Celia is a foreign qualified lawyer in the civil litigation team, with a background in general commercial litigation. She has experience in high value commercial disputes, particularly involving allegations of fraud and in representing clients in relation to a wide range of regulatory investigations.
Acting for international clients in the Court of Appeal to successfully set aside a freezing injunction in proceedings brought by the United States
Acting for a real estate development company and a bank bringing Commercial Court proceedings in conspiracy, breach of confidence, and defamation against a number of high profile defendants, including a without notice injunction and worldwide freezing order
Acting for an airline in relation to a global regulatory investigation into anti-competition allegations
Celia graduated with degrees in Law and History from the University of Auckland and was admitted to practice in New Zealand in 2008. She worked in the litigation team of a large commercial law firm in New Zealand, before relocating to London in 2011. Celia joined Byrne and Partners in 2014, after working as a locum solicitor for a number of Magic Circle and US firms.
